Nigerian Navy Debunks Fake 2026 Batch 39 Recruitment Notice, Warns Applicants

The Nigerian Navy has dismissed a recruitment notice circulating on social media, purportedly announcing the commencement of its 2026 Batch 39 recruitment exercise.

The Navy described the notice as fake and unauthorised, warning prospective applicants and members of the public not to rely on the information.

The Director of Naval Information, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Abuja.

Folorunsho urged Nigerians to exercise caution and disregard recruitment-related information shared through unofficial social media accounts, websites and other unauthorised platforms.

According to him, the Navy has not officially released the recruitment notice currently being circulated online.

“The Nigerian Navy wishes to inform the public that a recruitment notice currently circulating on social media platforms, purportedly announcing the Nigerian Navy Recruitment 2026 Batch 39 exercise, is not official,” the statement said.

The Navy added that genuine information about its recruitment exercises, including eligibility requirements, application procedures, timelines and available categories, would only be released through its authorised communication channels.

It therefore advised prospective applicants to verify any recruitment information before taking action, particularly where such information requests personal details, payments or other forms of commitment.

The Navy said its official recruitment and enlistment information is available through its authorised website, joinnigeriannavy.navy.mil.ng, and urged applicants to rely on that channel for legitimate updates.
