NNAUSA Fetes Abia Governor, Prays for His Success

Ngwa National USA Inc. (NNAUSA) led by its President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ugochukwu Agu (also known as Dr. Ugo Agu), Saturday, September 5, 2026, hosted the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, at its 35th Annual Convention held at the Hilton Hotel in Houston, Texas.

Speaking at the event, Governor Otti commended the Ngwa community in the United States for their unity, commitment, and vision, particularly for sustaining the association’s annual convention for 35 years.

He emphasized the importance of unity anchored on a positive purpose, urging the group to remain united for the good of the people rather than being “united in disservice and building walls of division.”

A major highlight of the event was a special prayer session for Governor Otti and the members of his delegation. The association prayed for God’s guidance, wisdom, and success in his administration.

The prayer session was particularly significant because Governor Otti has maintained a policy of neither accepting awards nor gifts since assuming office as Governor of Abia State.

Governor Otti also encouraged NNAUSA to consider hosting one of its future annual conventions in Abia State. He said such a move would encourage members of the association to return home, see and appreciate the developments taking place in the state, and explore ways of contributing to the state’s growth.

He urged members of the diaspora to consider bringing home not only financial resources but also ideas, expertise, and investments that could contribute meaningfully to the development of Abia State.
