Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has approved the appointment of four officials to key positions in the state’s power, road infrastructure, aviation and transportation sectors.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Tuesday evening by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode.

The development came hours after Oyebanji swore in the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Habibat Adubiaro, and the Chief of Staff, Oyeniyi Adebayo.

According to Oyebode, the new appointees are Philip Atere, Technical Adviser on Power Infrastructure; Tope Fatukasi, Technical Adviser on Road Infrastructure; retired Air Vice Marshal Sunday Makinde, Technical Adviser on Airport; and Tajudeen Alingbolu, Director-General of the Ekiti State Transport Agency.

The statement said the appointments take immediate effect and reflect the strategic importance of the respective sectors to the administration’s development agenda.

Oyebanji had earlier, during the swearing-in ceremony for the SSG and Chief of Staff, declared that his second-term administration would not tolerate anything short of excellent service delivery.

The governor charged the two officials to draw on the experience they acquired during his first term to deliver on their responsibilities without delay.

He noted that their reappointment came with greater responsibilities, warning them against complacency and overconfidence as the administration entered its second term.

Oyebanji described Adubiaro and Adebayo as experienced officials who had served since the beginning of his administration, but stressed that they must improve on their previous performance.

He said the demands of the second term required greater diligence, discipline and accountability, adding that he would be less tolerant of lapses because the officials could no longer cite inexperience as an excuse.

The latest appointments are expected to support the administration’s priorities in infrastructure development, power supply, aviation and transportation across Ekiti State.
