The family of Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has announced October 27, 2026, as the date for his night of tributes and service of songs, following his sudden death last week.

The event will honour the late singer, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, and will take place at 3pm at Jogor Center Hall of Grace in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The announcement was made on Wednesday through a post on the singer’s social media page, where the family invited friends, fans and members of the gospel music community to gather in his memory.

“We invite you to join us for a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister, Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, fondly known as Toluwanisings,” the statement read.

Toluwanisings died on October 14, 2026, just hours after ministering at a praise concert organised by fellow gospel singer Bidemi Olaoba in Ibadan.

His death has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with fans and public figures expressing grief and raising concerns about emergency healthcare services in Nigeria.

According to his personal assistant, the singer slumped at his residence and died after allegedly being turned away by eight hospitals in Ibadan because of a lack of emergency medical equipment.

The circumstances surrounding his death have fuelled criticism of the country’s healthcare system, with many Nigerians questioning the availability of timely emergency treatment. The family’s announcement of the service of songs now provides an opportunity for loved ones, fans and fellow gospel ministers to pay their final respects to the late singer.
