The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has accused some Nigerian politicians of using artificial intelligence (AI) to manipulate his prophecies for political purposes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The cleric raised the alarm after an AI-generated video circulated online, allegedly shared by former presidential aide Lauretta Onochie, in which a religious leader appeared to declare that President Bola Tinubu was “gone” and that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was in a stronger position ahead of the next presidential election.
Reacting in a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Ayodele distanced himself from the video, insisting he never made such a declaration during the launch of the 2026/2027 edition of his annual prophecy book, Warnings To The Nations.
According to him, he deliberately refrained from predicting the outcome of the 2027 presidential election because, at the time, he had not received what he described as divine permission to make such a revelation public.
Ayodele alleged that the AI-generated clip falsely portrayed him as endorsing a particular political outcome, describing the act as unethical, unlawful and contrary to the principles of his ministry.
“I’m shocked to see how Nigerian politicians have become so bold that they use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to change and twist my prophecies in order to support their own stories,” he said.
The cleric specifically accused Lauretta Onochie and others of being behind the manipulated video and demanded that it be removed from all social media platforms. He also called for a public apology, warning that failure to comply could result in legal action.
Ayodele maintained that the authentic recordings of his prophecies are available only on his verified social media platforms and are released through his media office. He advised the public to disregard any version that differs from his official publications, stressing that such content should be treated as false.
