Tinubu Losing Sleep Over Atiku, ADC Coalition Ahead of 2027, Tambuwal Claims

Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal has claimed that the growing influence of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is causing concern within President Bola Tinubu’s administration ahead of the 2027 general election.

Tambuwal made the remarks while welcoming Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, the former Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, into the ADC after his resignation from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing party supporters, the former governor alleged that the APC-led Federal Government had made several attempts to frustrate the opposition party but had failed.

“President Bola Tinubu, who is leaving office, has been staying up late because of the ADC. Everywhere he turns, he sees Atiku Abubakar,” Tambuwal said.

He further claimed that efforts to prevent the ADC from gaining political visibility had been unsuccessful.

“They have kept trying to stop the ADC from being made public, but God has prevented those plans from working,” he added.

Tambuwal also criticised the Federal Government’s handling of national challenges, arguing that the Tinubu administration has not done enough to address insecurity and other pressing issues confronting Nigerians.

According to him, many politicians remain hesitant to defect directly from the APC to the ADC because of perceived political pressure associated with leaving the ruling party.

The former governor’s comments come as political alignments continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, with opposition parties seeking to build stronger coalitions to challenge the APC at the polls.
