The management of the University of Ilesa has issued a strong warning to prospective students, cautioning them against fraudsters posing as admission agents promising guaranteed entry into the institution.
The university stressed that it does not recognise or authorise any individual or group acting as POST-UTME or admission facilitators, insisting that all admission processes must be completed strictly through official channels.
In a notice released on Wednesday, the institution made it clear that candidates should avoid dealing with unofficial platforms, noting that such actors are actively exploiting admission seekers with false promises.
Authorities explained that all registration and admission-related activities must be conducted only through the university’s approved online portal, adding that no third-party agents are empowered to assist candidates in securing admission.
“The University of Ilesa strongly cautions prospective candidates against patronising POST-UTME or admission agents,” the statement said, adding that the institution does not endorse any form of unofficial admission assistance.
The management further urged applicants and parents to rely solely on verified communication channels provided by the university to avoid falling victim to scams.
To support genuine enquiries, the university also released official contact numbers for admission-related assistance, encouraging candidates to seek clarification directly from the institution when in doubt.
It warned that desperate candidates risk losing money and personal data to impostors who often pose as insiders capable of influencing admission outcomes.
The institution reiterated its commitment to a transparent admission process and urged applicants to remain vigilant throughout the exercise, especially during registration and POST-UTME screening periods.
