Wike’s Son Denies $2.1m Abuja Land Deal, Says Signature Was Forged

Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, son of Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, has denied involvement in an alleged $2.1 million Abuja land transaction, telling an FCT High Court that the signature on a disputed document was forged.

Jordan made the claim while testifying in a suit filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited. The case, marked CV/008/2026, is being heard by Justice Silvanus Oriji.

During cross-examination by the claimants’ counsel, Hamza Dantani, Jordan said he did not receive any money from the claimants and had never signed a document relating to the alleged land deal.

He also denied knowing a man identified in the claimants’ account as Onor Sandy, saying he had no relationship or business arrangement with the claimants concerning the land transaction.

Jordan further told the court that he was outside Nigeria on September 26, 2025, the date the claimants alleged that the $2.1 million was delivered. His claim that he was abroad has also prompted the court to require production of his passport as part of the proceedings.

The claimants allege that they first met Jordan in London before meeting him again in Abuja. They said they approached him to facilitate the acquisition of 30 hectares in Katampe and another 30 hectares in Guzape, and alleged that he demanded $2.1 million for the transaction.

According to the claimants, $2 million of the alleged payment was intended for Wike, while $100,000 was described as Jordan’s personal fee. They further alleged that the money was delivered on September 26, 2025, in the presence of three individuals.

Jordan has rejected those allegations, including the claim that he received the money. Reports from the proceedings also indicate that he disputes the authenticity of the acknowledgment document bearing the disputed signature.

At an earlier hearing, the court ordered Jordan to produce his American international passport after he testified about his whereabouts on the date of the alleged payment. He subsequently produced a photocopy, undertaking to provide the original whenever required by the court.

The case has been adjourned to December 1, 2026, for continuation of the trial. The court has not made a final determination on the competing claims.
