2027: Remi Tinubu Urges South-East Voters to Back President Tinubu for Second Term

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has appealed to voters across the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in Owerri, the Imo State capital, during her official visit to the region, the First Lady said she and the President remained committed to building a better Nigeria and asked residents to support the administration at the polls.

“Make una vote for Mr President, we go work for una and Nigeria go better,” she told the gathering, urging voters in the region to give her husband another mandate.

Mrs Tinubu also linked her appeal to her desire to see a better Nigeria in her later years, saying she wanted to continue contributing to the country’s development.

“I want to enjoy Nigeria at old age, so I will work for Nigeria, for my old age,” she said.

The First Lady was in the South-East as part of an empowerment programme focused on women. She said the initiative was being implemented through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to Mrs Tinubu, the programme is expected to reach 18,500 women across Nigeria when fully implemented.

She added that 500 women in each of the five South-East states would benefit from the initiative, with beneficiaries receiving items such as generators, industrial grinding machines, gas cylinders and ovens to strengthen their businesses.
