Nollywood Stars Wumi Toriola, Seyi Edun Reconcile After Years of Public Feud

LAGOS, Nigeria – Nollywood actresses Wumi Toriola and Seyi Edun have rekindled their friendship, bringing an end to years of public fallout that strained their once-close relationship.

The reconciliation became public after Seyi Edun celebrated Wumi Toriola’s birthday with an emotional Instagram post, revealing that both actresses had chosen forgiveness, growth, and a fresh start.

Reflecting on their renewed bond, Seyi described their reunion as one of the highlights of her year.

“They say time and distance can test a friendship, but they can also prove how deep the roots go together. Reconnecting with you has been one of the highlights of my year, and it reminded me of the beautiful bond we have always had.

“Our reconnection has shown me just how much our bond matters. I’m so glad we chose growth, understanding, and a fresh start,” she wrote.

Responding in the comments section, Wumi Toriola expressed gratitude for the reconciliation and admitted she had missed their friendship.

“Ashabi, I genuinely miss us. Love you so much dear friend and thanks for the huge gift. I’m grateful we came back to our senses. Love you,” Wumi wrote.

How Their Feud Started

The actresses’ friendship reportedly broke down in October 2020 after Seyi Edun did not publicly celebrate the first birthday of Wumi Toriola’s son, Zion.

Seyi was neither seen at the birthday celebration nor did she acknowledge the occasion on social media, a move that sparked controversy given the close relationship between both actresses.

The situation escalated after Wumi publicly called out Seyi and mocked her over her inability to have a child at the time.

Their rift deepened further in June 2021 when Wumi also failed to acknowledge Seyi Edun’s birthday, signalling that their friendship had completely collapsed.

However, after years of silence and public disagreement, both actresses have now put the past behind them, signalling a fresh chapter in their relationship.
