Nigeria’s aviation sector is set for another connectivity boost as ValueJet expands its domestic network with a new Lagos–Benin City flight route aimed at improving travel access across the South-South region.
The airline says the new service will provide passengers with faster, more reliable, and more convenient travel options for both business and leisure movements between the two cities.
The development marks another step in ValueJet’s steady expansion across Nigeria’s aviation map, as demand for domestic air travel continues to grow amid rising road transport challenges.
Managing Director and Accountable Officer of ValueJet, Omololu Majekodunmi, said the new route reflects the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen connectivity between key commercial and regional hubs in the country.
He described the Lagos–Benin service as part of an ongoing effort to deliver safer, more customer-focused air travel while expanding access to underserved routes.
“The addition of Benin to our network reflects our focus on connecting key cities across Nigeria with safe, reliable, and customer-friendly services,” he said.
Majekodunmi added that the airline remains committed to improving efficiency and reducing travel time for passengers, particularly on high-demand domestic routes.
With the latest addition, ValueJet continues to grow its domestic footprint, operating flights from Lagos to major cities including Abuja, Port Harcourt, Owerri, Calabar, Kano, Jos, and Gateway International Airport.
The airline also runs regional services to Cotonou, Accra, Malabo, and Banjul, positioning itself as one of the emerging players in West Africa’s competitive aviation market.
Industry observers say the Lagos–Benin route could ease travel pressure on road users, especially along one of Nigeria’s busiest interstate corridors, while boosting economic activity between Lagos and Edo State.
